Sydney ladies – say hello to your Thursday night plans. (Yes, as in tomorrow night).
In collaboration with designers Ailie Isabelle Banks and Merindah Funnell, Stayfly Sydney is hosting an all-girls hip-hop night at World Bar. Featuring DJ Lou Lou and Ebony Boadu, with a special guest performance by trap-soul singer Jannah Beth, it’s bound to be a fresh, fun and sassy affair. Stayfly Sydney is a female creative collective made up of different artists. Their aim is to foster creativity, collaboration and friendship amongst women in Sydney, through putting on exhibitions, gigs, workshops and graffiti jams. Their events involve not only adults but younger members of the community, reflecting Stayfly’s drive to inspire young women to make their own shit by creating a space for them to do so. They have been described as ‘a battalion of fierce, edgy and fun street artists, dancers, photographers, DJs, singers and MCs’. They sound like my kinda crew.
And by the sounds of it, they throw one hell-of-a-party.
