Panel Discussion: A Third Space: Transience and Identity in the Transnational

Speakers :: Mikala Tai, Adam Porter, Nicole Barakat and Jarrah Sastrawan

Join local artists, researchers and the exhibiting artists for a discussion about cross-cultural perspectives, experiences and identities, within and beyond Australia.

Re-interpretations of identity within transnational communities are perpetually changing beyond the individual. A transient culture and heritage situates one’s experiences in tension with geographical borders, cultural barriers and a sense of rootedness. Within our time of more immediate interconnectedness, our conversation will take shape around fluidity of the reality within the diaspora and its potentiality to push and create new experiences.
